Rambling ivy or Virginia Creeper will add a touch of the rustic to your home, but climbing plants can create lot of damage to the brickwork. Removing them is tough too, with roots penetrating mortar and plasterwork. Any cracks caused will be exploited by bad climatic. Ivy is the most damaging, and you should be especially careful never to let it get down into damage the rooftop.
