5-HTP is an amino acid that stems from the central plant referred to as griffonia simplicifolia. It is most commonly described as 5-Hydroxytryptophan, or 5 HTP, but also referred to as oxitriptan. Atomically, it is virtually similar to serotonin, which is normally produced by human physiology.
