The initial incarnation of the United States Maritime Corps ("USMC") was born in 1775 in the program of the Continental Congress in a resolution sponsored by John Adams. The USMC fought diligently in the course of the American transformation but, right after the Treaty of Paris in April 1783, it was liquified only to be restored in 1798.
